Mohammad Abdus Salam, NI, SPk, KBE (Punjabi, 29 January 192621 November 1996) was a theoretical physicist who, when he shared the 1979 award for his contribution to electroweak unification, became the first Muslim and first Pakistani to receive a Nobel Prize in Physics.
